Neptunia: Sisters vs Sisters (超次元ゲイム ネプテューヌ Sisters vs Sisters Chōjigen Geimu Neputūnu: Sisters vs Sisters, lit. Super Dimension Game Neptune: Sisters vs Sisters) is an orthodox spin-off RPG in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. This game follows Nepgear and the Goddess Candidates waking up to a Gamindustri two years after the Trendi Outbreaks terrorized the four nations.
Story
Handhelds vs. smartphones—the little sisters’ portable revolution that began over time…
That day, the four Goddesses set off in response to a request for help from the PC Continent far beyond the sea, while Nepgear and the other Goddess candidates investigated an abandoned laboratory.
There, they were trapped in a capsule and put into a deep sleep by the "Ashen Goddess", and awakened to a Gamindustri two years later.
People now had the latest smartphone, called the "rPhone". It became a world in which the market share was dominated by smartphones.
Nepgear is told that Planeptune fell to the Trendi Outbreaks, in which hordes of monsters to appear, and that her older sister Neptune went missing.
Having lost her sister and a home to return to, Nepgear fell into despair.
This is a story of destruction and restoration, by Goddesses, for Goddesses, to pave the way from a future of despair, to a future of hope.[6][13][14]
Hyper Dimension
Nepgear and her friends live in a world called "Gamindustri".
The land under Purple Heart's protection, Planeptune.
The land under Black Heart's protection, Lastation.
The land under White Heart's protection, Lowee.
The land under Green Heart's protection, Leanbox.
The four nations were affected by the Trendi Outbreaks, in which a massive amount of monsters appeared, and now the people refrain from going out, leaving the streets deserted.
Due to the advent of the "rPhones", that are affecting the Shares ratio, all contact with the Ultra Dimension has been cut off.
With all direct communications severed, People are connected through their smartphones.
PC Continent
A continent far beyond the sea.
A place where PC and indie games thrive.
There are as many creators and games as there are on the continent which Nepgear and her friends call home.
The Trendi Phenomenon
A phenomenon in which a massive amount of monsters suddenly appear.
Since it occurs at irregular intervals without warning, the nations are having serious problems to deal with it.
Due to the Trendi Outbreaks, Planeptune has fallen.
rPhone
The latest smartphone.
It's said there is no person who doesn't own one these days.
People are dependent on them as they are used for SNS, games, assistant functionality, and much more.

- Goddess Candidate of Lowee and Blanc's little sister. She and Ram are twins, being Rom the older sister. A shy girl.
- Waking up in Gamindustri a few years later, she works with Nepgear to restore Planeptune.
- Despite her shyness, she keeps her calm and composed attitude while supporting Nepgear and her friends.
- With her Goddess Transformation she can transform into White Sister.

- Goddess Candidate of Lowee and Blanc's little sister. She and Rom are twins, being Ram the little sister. A lively and mischievous girl.
- Waking up in Gamindustri a few years later, she works with Nepgear to restore Planeptune.
- Even in a world where a huge amount of Shares has been taken away, she behaves cheerfully as always with Rom.
- With her Goddess Transformation she can transform into White Sister.

- The Goddess of Planeptune. A high-tension girl with her natural brightness and energy. She goes to the PC Continent, but does not return to Planeptune, and is now missing.

- The Goddess of Lastation. She is a tsundere girl who can't be honest. She has been deprived a huge amount of shares and is busy working to protect her country in a world chaotic due to the Trendi Outbreaks.
- With her Goddess Transformation she can transform into Black Heart.
- Blanc
- Voiced by: Kana Asumi (Japanese), Wendee Lee (English)
- The Goddess of Lowee. She is a lover and a calm and quiet girl. She works with Histoire, including accepting refugees from Planeptune and PC Continent, as she suffers less from the Trendi Outbreaks than in other countries.
- With her Goddess Transformation she can transform into White Heart.
- Vert
- Voiced by: Rina Satou (Japanese), Carrie Keranen (English)
- The Goddess of Leanbox. She is the only one of the four goddesses with no sister. Outwardly, she’s a gentle, well-mannered lady, but on the inside, she’s a hardcore gamer. She has been restricted from going out and her contact has been cut off in order to protect her people from the monster damage caused by the Trendi Outbreaks.
- With her Goddess Transformation she can transform into Green Heart.

- An uncomplicated type from the PC Continent. She is earning a daily income after the Trendi Outbreaks ruined her journey.

- Maho

- A bright and cheerful girl who loves smartphones. She is picked up by Anri, who has evacuated from the PC Continent, where she had collapsed near Planeptune. She is good at software development, and she works with Anri to create observation instruments and works hard day and night to elucidate the Trendi Outbreaks.
- Anri
- Voiced by: Natsumi Ooshita (Japanese), Jenny Yokobori (English)[18]
- A software engineer from the PC Continent. She is a calm and knowledgeable girl. Refugees who have evacuated to the continent where Nepgear and others are located in the wake of the incident that occurred on the continent. She's an optimistic guardian towards Maho, and she often thinks about her and pays attention to her. She is devoting her efforts to elucidating the Trendi Outbreaks.

- An unknown Goddess that holds the key to the story, and the culprit who put Nepgear and the other Goddess candidates to sleep for two years.

- This is the first Neptunia game to be released on Xbox consoles.
- This game later received a patch on April 8, 2023 that toned down some lines of language in the script with the audio being altered or re-recorded in order to comply with the game's final "T" rating and tags.[20]
- The Xbox ports were originally scheduled to release on April 16, 2024, but was delayed in order to "ensure [their] entry to the Xbox platform launches smoothly".[9]
