Hyperdimension Neptunia/Story/Endings

From Neptunia Wiki

There are 3 endings you can obtain in Hyperdimension Neptunia. The only endings that have trophies associated with them are Normal and True Endings. The requirements for each ending a summary will be listed below.

Note 1: In order to restore Neptune's memory you must go to each landmass first and speak with each of the CPUs and have them refuse to join you. After that, an event in Planeptune will become available which will lead to Neptune's memory restoration. This must all be done before heading to the final dungeon in Celestia.

Note 2: In order to recruit the CPUs you must raise their nation's shares to 70%. After this is done, an event will occur which will prompt you to fight the CPU one on one as Neptune in order to make them join. Please remember that Neptune or any of the other CPUs dying in battle will decrease their land's share count by 1% each time.

Normal Ending

Requirements

  • Do not Recruit any of the CPUs

Summary

If the player does not recruit any of the other Goddesses before the end of the game, then after defeating Arfoire, Neptune, Compa, and IF resume their travels together to rid Gamindustri of the remaining monsters.

Alternate Endings

Requirements

  • Restore Neptune's memory
  • Recruit 1 or 2 of the CPUs.

Summary

If the player restores Neptune's memory but only recruits one or two of the Goddesses, then the party will return to Planeptune's Basilicom and the recruited Goddesses will talk about returning to Celestia while Neptune chooses to remain in Planeptune and Compa and IF will go out to take down the remaining monsters.

True Ending

Requirements

  • Restore Neptune's memory
  • Recruit all 3 CPUs

Summary

If the player restores Neptune's memory and recruits all the CPUs, then after defeating Arfoire they will all return to Gamindustri and with Histoire's help, use their combined powers to remove the monsters from Gamindustri. After this, they give up their positions as CPUs to become regular humans and give Histoire the authority to hand their power over to create a new True Goddess who will succeed them. At the end, Histoire says how the CPUs lived and died as humans and how Gamindustri lived happily ever after.
