Chapter 5: Approaching Shadows

"I will resume playing Angelic Crust 2. While gone for 3 years, not a single member left our online guild. On the contrary, they were preserving it. Who could quit a game with such wonderful players?"

Summary

Vert says she can finally relax at home and Chika comments on how Vert has kept so busy even after getting rescued. Vert asks Chika if she missed her and apologizes for leaving her alone. Chika says it's fine because now she can get all of Vert's time. Ignoring Chika's words, Vert heads straight to her computer to update and manage her computer. Chika says that Vert can care for her computer anytime to which Vert replies by saying that she would leave it to Chika but she cannot handle such a task. In the midst of being ignored, Chika begins to fake her own illness, claiming for the only cure to be Vert's attention. Vert, still more preoccupied with her PC, suggests that Chika lies down which makes Chika call her unbelievably cold. Vert says that Chika's dying act won't work on her again much to Chika's dismay. Vert says that she'll pay attention to Chika once she has taken care of her computer, but before that she has to go out and purchase the games release within the past 3 years and get their achievements. Chika says to herself that she won't give up on trying to get Vert's attention.

"My monthly fees are getting disastrous. Over 80000 credits... Chika will go ballistic. What should I do?"

Summary

Chika desperately tries to get Vert to spend time with her only for her to be shot down every time. Chika says she'll try once more and begins to cough. Vert tells her the cough syrup is on the second shelf which upsets Chika even more, thinking that her acting isn't up to Vert's standards. She tries even harder, making her coughs and hacks more vicious. This results in Chika actually getting sick which Vert diagnosis as hypoxia and tells her to lie down. Vert then takes times away from her games to pay attention to and take care of Chika.
