Costume Canvas

Costume Canvas is a mechanic used in Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 and Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory where the player can upload custom outfits for the CPUs and Candidates from their PlayStation 3's photo album.

Players can also create their own outfits for a CPU or Candidate by using a specified template or download one already made by other users.

Costume Canvas was first introduced in Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 where the player can only customize Purple Sister's core processor unit.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory

With the mechanic identical to mk2, this would later expand to customization of the CPUs and the rest of the CPU Candidates.

Creating a Custom Costume

When creating a custom costume, players can download a template for a specific character, and edit it with their own design via an image editing software of their choosing. The final canvas can be saved as either a .jpg or .png with a 16x16 minimum resolution and 1024x1024 maximum resolution, and a unique filename.

Uploading Costumes

Players can transfer custom canvases they've created or downloaded onto the PS3's hard drive, which are then located under "Photos", for use with either Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 or Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. Once on gameplay, players can go to the menu and select Equipment, where they can select any CPU or Candidate, and go to Equipped Processor. Once Costume Canvas is selected, they have the option to change the core processor's texture with a custom image of their choosing. Once the custom texture is uploaded, it is embedded onto the character and can be adjusted to their liking. The custom canvas then appears when a character transforms into HDD during battle.

Please note that using character-specific costumes should not be mixed with other characters.
