This page contains cultural references that can be found in Gakuen Game Neptune: Katsudou Diary.

Chapter 1: Activate, Gaministrators!

  • Neptune describes a vertical shooter with a shrine maiden as the main character with a barrage of bullets coming out of her, and the boss using bombs as her special move. This is a reference to the Touhou Project franchise.
  • Compa & IF's Sexy Shooter is a reference to Sexy Parodius.

Chapter 2: Invasion! The Zombie Army!

  • As Vert explains the different types of action games, she mentions the following genres, with each one referencing a respective video game:
    • 2D side-scroller: Super Mario Bros.
    • Fighting: Street Fighter
    • Games that use weapons to defeat waves of enemies: Dynasty Warriors
  • The Goddesses' horror action game featuring zombies is a reference to Resident Evil.
  • The planned city name "Bermuda", in which Noire mentions that it sounds like an artist's name, is a reference to Bamyuuda Saimaru, an illustrator for Hyperdimension Neptunia: Megami Tsuushin.
